Kathryn SellersMarch 1, 2002, DALTON, GA The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) is announcing the retirement of Kathryn Sellers, who has been active with communications efforts since 1993. Mrs. Sellers came to CRI during the time when the carpet industry was addressing misinformed media and regulatory concerns about carpet and air quality issues.

Working with experts from member companies and CRI staff, she assisted with the communication of carpet benefits messages and facts about indoor air quality issues. Tasks included the development and implementation of the industry-wide advertising and public relations programs, the development of various consumer and technical publications and the CRI web sites.

Mrs. Sellers coordinated media inquiries and worked with newspapers, magazines, broadcast media and design and specification organizations to present positive carpet and rug fashion and performance information.

Werner Braun, president of CRI, stated, It is with reluctance that we accept Kathryns retirement. She has earned great respect among CRI staff as well as members of the media. Kathryn has generated a long list of accomplishments throughout her years of service here. We wish Kathryn the very best retirement possible.

Mrs. Sellers future plans include enjoying family and community affairs and free lance communications.
