Announces Retirement of Gary Kenworthy

1, 2002, DALTON, GA The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) is announcing the retirement
of Gary Kenworthy, who has been active with CRI since joining the staff in 1996.
Mr. Kenworthy retires with more than 30 years in the floor covering industry.
Mr. Kenworthy joined CRI to create and direct the "Seal of Approval"
program. His responsibilities also included Director of the Floor Covering Installation
Board (FCIB), Director of Governmental Issues and most recently, Governmental
Issues Specialist.
At CRI, Mr. Kenworthy was active on the Seal of Approval Board of Directors,
FCIB Board, Governmental Issues Committee, Chief Financial Officers Council,
Tax Accountants Committee, PAC, Economic Issues, Safety Committee, Human Resources
Committee and the Canadian anti-dumping issues.
Werner Braun, president of CRI, stated, It is with reluctance that we accept
Garys retirement. He has earned great respect among CRI staff as well as members
of the industry. Gary has generated a long list of accomplishments throughout
his years of service here. We wish Gary the very best retirement possible and
all the success possible with his horse farm.
Mr. Kenworthy resides near Dalton, GA, with his wife, Wanda, at Paradise,
their Arabian horse farm. Together, they have two grown children and plan to
spend much of their time breeding, training, and showing purebred Arabian horses.
