CRI Produces YouTube Video for Seal of Approval ProgramAs part of their ongoing efforts to promote the Seal of Approval program and create demand for SOA-certified Service Providers, CRI has produced a video that has been posted online on the self-broadcasting platform, YouTube. The video is an onsite case study of a Chattanooga, TN, restaurant named the Jet Stream Grill. For various reasons, the restaurant owner had experienced severe soiling, but the 6-minute video graphically illustrates how Seal of Approval products and equipment, in combination with a Seal of Approval Certified Service Provider can bring even dramatically soiled carpet back to life. The video is located on YouTube or by going on YouTube.com and entering the search term Jet Stream Grill. Below is a link as well to a Windows Media Player version of the video. Toxicologist Dr. Mitch Sauerhoff attended the meeting on behalf of CRI, to speak on the details of his international literature review article, Carpet, Asthma and Allergy - Myth or Reality? Participation, Interest High at CARE 2009 Entrepreneurs' MeetingMore than 60 representatives from 47 different organizations met October 28 in Atlanta for the Sixth Annual Entrepreneurs' Meeting of the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE). The meeting offers a chance for entrepreneur carpet collectors and others with vested interests in the carpet recycling industry to discuss the issues affecting post-consumer carpet collectors and processors. Key issues this year included: discussion of current challenging economic conditions facing the carpet recycling industry; renegotiation of CARE's Memorandum of Understanding of Carpet Stewardship due in 2012; emerging product opportunities for post-consumer carpet feedstock, and state and federal grant programs for CARE entrepreneur collectors. Also in discussion was how the limited availability of products that use material from post- consumer carpet continues to hinder growth. Contact Jeremy Stroop at 706.428-2127.
