In This Issue: Nine New Solutions Added to CRI's Seal of Approval Total
Shaw Industries' R2x Solutions have been redesignated from SOA to SOA Green products. Shaw's products have new names and label designs to reflect their new formula and status, and they are now sold as R2x Green Formula Carpet and Rug Stain and Soil Remover and R2x Area Rug Spot Cleaner Congratulations, to Shaw Industries on their support for green cleaning products that work! Fenton, Missouri-based Riccar Corporation earned SOA certification for their spot removers, Riccar Dry Carpet Cleaner and Riccar Pre-Mist and De-Matter. Two more spot removers, Healthy Home by Simplicity Pretreatment & De-Matter and Healthy Home by Simplicity Dry Carpet Cleaner have earned Seal of Approval. Riccar and Simplicity are both divisions of the Tacony Corporation. Family-owned Waxie Sanitary Supply has received Seal of Approval for two InTank products, Green Encapsulation Carpet Spin Bonnet and Green Encapsulating Extraction Cleaner, one prespray, Green Encapsulating Carpet PreSpray, and spot remover Green Encapsulating Carpet Spotter. The SOA designation certifies that the product has passed a series of stringent tests performed by an independent laboratory. The tests for spot removers, pre- sprays and in-tank solutions include protocols for efficacy (removing stains), resoiling (whether the product attracts soil at an accelerated rate), pH (excessively acid or alkaline products can affect dyes and fibers), optical brighteners (can adversely affect color, appearance and performance) and colorfastness to light (residues on pile yarn can accelerate color change).
