Contact Bob Peoples at 706.428-2115 6th Annual CARE Conference is Set For Clearwater ResortThe 6th Annual CARE Conference is set for May 5-7 at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater, FL. This year's conference will include discussion of the latest developments and challenges facing the industry. It will also include a tour of a recycling facility. In addition to the release of the annual CARE report, and annual awards, there will also be a LEED facility tour. Contact Bob Peoples at 706.428-2115 Register for the CARE Conference EPA, CARE Establish New AwardA new EPA/CARE Award has been established to recognize innovation as it relates to any aspect of carpet recycling. As a relatively new undertaking, innovation is extremely important to the advancement and success of the Carpet Recycling Industry. For this reason, the EPA and CARE have chosen to honor the organization, team or individual that has pursued and demonstrated innovative solutions or processes that have positively impacted carpet recycling. This award will be presented for the first time in May of 2008 at CARE's 6th Annual Conference in Clearwater Beach, FL. The deadline for submission is March 3, 2008. Contact Bob Peoples at 706.428-2115 CRI Sponsors Georgia Legislative EventCRI was the primary sponsor of the recent Dalton- Whitfield County Chamber of Commerce reception for the Georgia state legislation at the Atlanta Freight Depot. The event brought together all of Georgia's legislative representation and will gave CRI the opportunity to educate the group on the various initiatives CRI is working on. Additionally, the lawmakers were given information on what the carpet industry means collectively to north Georgia as well as the entire state. Contact Frank Hurd at 706.428-2136. CRI Plans Legislative Reception in DCCRI will host its annual legislative reception in Washington DC on February 6th. CRI members are encouraged to attend not only the reception that evening at the Rayburn Building, but are welcome to join CREI staff as they visit with legislatures in the nation's capital to talk about the issues currently effecting the carpet industry. These one-on-one meetings are great way for members to relay information directly to their representatives and CRI has found them to be very productive in the past several years.
