Trio Makes 36 Seal of Approval Certified Cleaning Solutions

CRI Seal of ApprovalThe list of Seal of Approval carpet cleaning solutions has grown to 36 with the addition of three new certified products that have passed the stringent testing protocol.

Shaw Industries' R2Xtra spot remover and pre-spray, Chemspec's Killer Odor Plus spot remover and pre- spray, and Future Floor Technologies' Longevity Low Moisture Cleaner pre-spray each were certfiied by an independent testing lab. The products were tested for efficacy, resoiling, pH, optical brighteners, and colorfastness to light.

The bottom line: Seal of Approval cleaning solutions such as these effectively remove stains and soil without adversely affecting the appearance or the performance of the carpet -- which is a wise investment for both consumers, commercial and institutional purchasers.

CRI Visits with Residential Retailers

CRI was among the vendors which participated in the recent Mohawk Floorscapes Convention in Hollywood, Florida. The event is geared to residential retailers and CRI's presence was a prime example of how member companies can provide the all-important multiplier effort in getting out the good word on carpet.

The CRI booth was well-attended by the large group of retailers and staff was inundated with questions about CRI's signature programs as well as inquiries into carpet installation matters. The event provided a good opportunity for feedback and confirmed the need for CRI to focus on critical issues, including finding solutions for installation- related problems.

If you have an event that you feel like CRI's presence would be a good fit, please contact James Beach.

Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard Approved as Draft National Standard

NSF InternationalAfter many months of dilligent and hard work, the Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard has finally made its way into the public domain. It has been approved as a draft standard for public trial use by NSF International as an American Draft Standard. Following a comment period not to exceed 36 months, the draft, revised as necessary, will be submitted to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for approval as an American National Standard.

A public review in accordance with established ANSI procedures is required at the end of the trial use period before the draft may be submitted to ANSI.

Comments for revisions to the draft should be directed to Jane Wilson, NSF International, PO Box 130140, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48113-0140.
