See A List of Certified Extractors Connections Trade Show and Convention A SuccessCRI President Werner Braun was a featured speaker recently at the Connections Trade Show and Convention in Las Vegas and drew a standing-room only crowd for his hour-long presentation. Aside from Braun’s presence at the event, CRI teamed up with NASA to share a booth at the event and was overwhelmed with visitors during the three-day show trying to find out how to get their products certified under the new Seal of Approval testing program. Braun and CRI are expecting similar results at the upcoming ISSA/Interclean Show which represents the cleaning industry’s largest tradeshow. Braun will present along with NASA and the two organizations will have their interactive booth on display as well. Contact James Beach at 706.428.2116. EPA Plans for Reduction of Required TRI DataEPA is proposing a plan to ease up on requirements for industrial facilities to report chemical information under the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). Under the proposal, factories, power plants, refineries and other sources would no longer need to report releases to TRI of less than 5,000 pounds, a change from the current 500-pound threshold. According to Inside EPA, the proposal includes first-time exemptions for non-dioxin persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic (PBT) chemicals, allowing facilities that release up to 500 pounds of PBTs to report using Form A rather than the more complicated Form R. EPA officials say the plan, which industry groups support, would reduce the regulatory burden on companies and give the agency more time to assess trends from the annual data.
