Industry Forum Set For Georgia Tech

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology will soon be used in testing programs for vacuum and extraction cleaners. Equipment that passes the test will receive CRI's Seal of Approval as well as certification from the Space Foundation. An industry forum co-hosted by CRI, the NASA Southeast Regional Technology Transfer Center, and the Space Foundation has been scheduled for June 28th in Atlanta. Participants will learn about the branding opportunities available through the testing program, and hear from other product manufacturers who have utilized the space certification in their marketing efforts. The forum is designed to be informational, as well as allow stakeholders an opportunity to offer input into the program.

Bush Stresses Need for Science Behind EPA Decisions

President Bush says the new administrator of EPA, Stephen Johnson, will stress the need for firm scientific evidence to justify new regulations. "With his background, Steve will help us continue to place sound scientific analysis at the heart of all major environmental decisions," Bush said during Johnson's swearing-in ceremony at EPA. "He will maintain our common-sense approach of collaborating with leaders and volunteers at the local level to find the best solutions to meet our national goals." The event was also the first presidential visit to the agency's headquarters, according to an Associated Press report. Johnson is a 24-year EPA veteran and the first administrator with a scientific background.
