EPP Spreads

Environmentally Preferable Products or Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) has spread from the State of California. The legislation mandates that state agencies must use products specified in the state-approved database or products that are "green" or contain recycled content. What began in the California Office of the State Architect as a mandate to create an EPP database has spread to Illinois. Last week the Illinois House Committee on Environment passed legislation on to the House regarding creation of an EPP Task Force in the state of Illinois. CRI is closely monitoring the issues in both California and Illinois.

Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport says, "Let's Go..."

To help improve air service and build a partnership between airlines, the airport and the community, Chattanooga Airport Authority officials are asking for customer feedback. The airport website has an online survey to learn more about your travel needs. In its continuing effort to improve reliability, scheduling and fares, the airport reports record numbers of passenger boardings, reduced fares, and new flights, including daily nonstop flights to Washington DC (starting July 11). According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, service between Chattanooga and Atlanta has improved: in March 2004, 98.6% of flights were completed, of which 91.6% were on time. The same route had a 97.3% completion rate from November 2003 through February 2004. For comparison purposes, the national average (over an eight year period) for completed flights is 97.6% and 74% for on time flights. The airport offers 25 daily departures and nonstop service to New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, Memphis, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Washington DC.
