CRI Marketing Plan – Advertisement 1 in March, 2003 Issue of Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology

This ad is one of three physician directed ads scheduled to run in 2003 in this journal and several others. These ads are part of our marketing plan to lower the “Asthma and Allergy” barrier. Some of the next steps in lowering the Asthma and Allergy misperception barrier will include: the carpet-health.org website; teasers mailed to physicians; a video to be mailed in May; and blast emails to physicians. CRI Participating in IICRC Work on S500 and S520

Dr. Steve Phillips of CRI attended a two day meeting of the IICRC committees dedicated to working on revising S500 (water damage restoration guideline) and writing S520 (a mold remediation guideline). The two activities are closely related in that mold damage often accompanies water damage. The S500 revision will become the third edition of this guideline. The S520 activity seeks to consolidate the information needed to adequately assess and remediate mold damage. The S520 results will be shared with the American Congress of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIS) with an eye to getting additional support for this effort. ACGIH annually publishes Threshold Limit Values and Biological Exposure Indices for chemical substances and physical agents. Contact Steve Phillips at 706.428.2115.

American Lung Association Health House Program Representative to Meet With CRI Members

CRI member companies with interest in the health care and educational markets are urged to attend this meeting April 16, 1-3 p.m. in the CRI Boardroom. Jerry Orr, Executive Director of the Minnesota American Lung Association (ALA), will be at CRI to present various sponsorship opportunities that ALA offers for its national Healthy Home program. The program outlines construction specifications for homes that are “healthy” for people with Asthma and Allergies. Carpet is a part of the Level 1 ALA Healthy Home. (Note: current ALA specifications designate commercial carpet for this residential use.) There will be numerous levels of participation opportunities available for discussion during the meeting.
