Model Specifications for Commercial CarpetThe "Model Specifications For Commercial Carpet" is a new concept of preparing specifications for commercial carpet. Details of the new concept have undergone several reviews with independent carpet specifiers over the last several years resulting in many changes/up-dates made by technical experts in the carpet industry. Only after obtaining consensus approval from The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) carpet manufacturing membership, CRI added the Model Specifications to the CRI Website. The Model Specifications document has two key sections. The first section includes the Texture Appearance Retention Rating (TARR) Guidelines for a selected carpet application and the remaining section contains the Physical Performance Requirements Specification forms for eight Carpet-Types currently available for commercial applications. At first glance, the material in the Model Specifications Document may appear complex. However, the systematic procedure, as listed on page two (2) of the document, is a step method to select the appropriate carpet Texture Appearance Retention Rating for the intended end-use application; the second phase is to select the desired Carpet-Type on page eight (8) and complete the appropriate Physical Performance Requirements form. Questions and comments concerning the Model Specifications should be sent to CRI . Model Specification for Commercial Carpet
